Frequently Asked Questions about your visit to Rockin M Ranch.
- Why are your deposits non-refundable and your cancellation policies so strict?
- We are not a motel with a 24 hour lobby set up to take walk in business, but a cabin rental/guest ranch operation with a limited number of cabins. The majority of our reservations are made several weeks if not months before the time of stay; therefore we have a difficult time filling cancelled reservations with short notice. People who have been turned away due to us being full, typically have made reservations at another lodging establishments when we have made attempts to contact them due to a cancellation. Please make sure your plans are firm before booking.
- Why will you not allow 1 night stays?
- Due to the cabins being equipped with full kitchens and larger than a typical hotel room, the cleaning is too extensive to justify one night stays.
- What cooking supplies are in the cabins?
- A few pots, pans, can opener, silverware, dishes (service for eight, loft cabin), bowls, spatulas, etc. A propane grill is on the front covered deck.
- How far is the nearest grocery store?
- The nearest grocery store is in Alpine (four miles from our highway turn off). The store has a produce department, deli, meat, and beer cooler.
- Do small children and infants count towards your occupancy numbers?
- Yes, all people count, regardless of age. Our occupancy is set by local fire code, NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Do you have roll away beds or can we bring air mattresses for the floor?
- No, We do not provide roll away beds or allow air mattresses. Our policy is no floor sleeping. We have found from past experiences that floor sleeping typically causes excess wear to the bedspreads, decorative pillows, matting of the carpets, and general overcrowding of the cabins.
- Do you allow pets?
- Sorry, No outside pets are allowed onsite or in the cabins. The local vet clinic does offer a boarding service. 307-654-9990
- Do the cabins have T.V.?
- Yes the cabins have satellite T.V. with several movie channels.
- Do the cabins have D.V.D. players?
- No, but all TV's have a jack on the front, if you choose to bring your own D.V.D. player.
- Do the cabins have phones?
- No, but most of the larger cell phone companies (ATT and Verizon) have good service from the cabins.
- Do you have internet service?
- We do not have internet hookups or wireless, but the local coffee shop in Alpine does "the coffee cabin".
- How far are Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton Parks?
- Jackson is 36 miles North East of Alpine. The entrance to Grand Teton Park is approx. 15 miles North of Jackson. The official entrance to Yellowstone is 60 miles from Jackson, although most consider the entrance into Teton Park the start of their park adventure. One entrance fee is good for both Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks.
- Is there a laundry mat nearby?
- Yes, There is a laundry mat in the town of Alpine.

- Can we fish the onsite fishing pond and do we need a fishing license?
- Yes anyone staying at the cabins may fish the onsite pond (catch and release/barbless hooks). Yes, you do need a Wyoming fishing license.
- Where can we get a fishing license?
- The Alpine grocery store and every gas station sell licenses. Banana's (2 miles north of Alpine) sells Idaho licenses.
- Do you allow Tents or RV's next to our cabin?
- No, We do not allow Tents or R.V.s next to cabins. This is due to consideration of other guests and to prevent overcrowding to the Rockin' M amenities.
- Can we fish the Salt River by the cabins?
- Yes, The Salt River bordering the cabins and nearly 1 mile upstream can be fished by guests of the cabins.
- Do you offer horseback rides?
- Yes, we do offer horseback rides. All rides are by reservation only and require some advanced notice. Please see our horseback portion of this website. If we are not able to accommodate you, we will be happy to refer you to another reputable outfitter.
- Are A.T.V's allowed at the cabins?
- Yes, A.T.V.'s are allowed, but only for the purpose of accessing or leaving the cabins. Using the cabins roads for "the race track" or making continual laps around the cabins is not permitted. No one under 16 is allowed to operate A.T.V.'s on Rockin' M properties.

- Can we ride our snowmobiles from our cabins?
- Yes, There is typically plenty of snow from December to March to get around the valley floor. The groomed trail starts approx, ½ mile from our highway turn off.
- Do the cabins have fireplaces?
- Yes, The cabins have propane fueled fire places.
- Is there enough room to park my snowmobile trailer by the cabin?
- Yes, There is one large gravel pad beside each cabin and additional parking in front of the cabins.
- Do you rent snowmobiles?
